In 2013 I'm going to do a year of Health Science (Gold Coast Campus, Griffith) then defer to the Bachelor of Oral Health in Dental Science (Gold Coast, Griffith). I just wanted to know whether you have to sit the GAMSAT/UMAT to get into the Dental course? I've looked on the Medicine courses and they all state specifically you require a pass for the GAMSAT (having completed a prior undergraduate degree) or get at least an OP 1 plus UMAT. My worry is not of medicine, instead Dentistry... if I do a Health Science degree then defer to Dentistry (three year course) do I require a GAMSAT test pass? Some posts have said it does, others have said it does not.

Am I able to defer after a year of Health Science? If so, what GPA do I require?

i just wanted to know from past students of FYHS whether they think it is still a good idea to pay the money to sit UMAT even if the results won't count for anything or whether it'd just be better just sitting the practice exams?
