Posted 14-01-12 08:20 PM Adelaide MBBS med offers 2012
How is everyone feeling about their chances at Adelaide med in the lead up to the release of SATAC offers on Wednesday? Do offers come out through the tracking website first or via SATAC? Post any questions here about the release of offers and... in a few days whether you got an offer or not!!

Posted 14-01-12 08:55 PM They release both. Everyone usually checks SAtAC though as it's the official one. I don't trust the tracking website. Also can I say one thing: For dental students who did not get a first round offer, a place of 100 on the merit ranking list is the last likely place you will get an offer, as per 250 I think for med so pleeeease don't ask me if you likely to get an offer on merit ranking 75 etc.

Posted 14-01-12 09:04 PM Sorry to diverge slightly off-topic, but what is a 'merit ranking'?

It's essentially your place in the list of best to worst candidate from the UADEL MBBS rankings. So people merit ranked 1-150 will receive first round offers, then later-round offers are made in order when offered candidates decline their offers.

Posted 15-01-12 02:15 AM Check out the Adelaide dentistry entrance info for all the info on the merit list, it's the same for med but I haunt written the med guide yet.

Posted 15-01-12 08:42 AM Do all universities have this kind of merit list?
-
Posted 15-01-12 09:01 AM I personally checked the tracking site first as SATAC was overflowing with people. And then just checked the offer in the advertiser.
They both come at about the same time though, but make sure you accept on the tracking site (it also lets you know what type of offer you get such as bonded or non bonded so read carefully)
Good luck!

Well they all have a list of preferences from 1-whatever of students for every program they have. How they calculate it is different. It's the idea behind the matching algorithm that they use for the tertiary applications in every state.
