yeah i guess, people who i know in physio are pretty laid back. It is interesting to me because of the relevance to med really and learning how to get fully-sick-muscles.

    yeah I'm totally that guy.

I'm not sure that it matters, because my plan is to just take a gap year if I don't get in this year. No big deal really, and I'll still qualify as a school-leaver applicant. Would you take a course and hope to transfer in from there?
There's this: http://gallery.live.com/liveItemDeta...c970&bt=1&pl=1 and others aswell you can search on the website.

You see, I'm not sure whether taking a gap year is the smartest idea. For starters, you'd be delaying yourself 1 entire year, and even then you run the risk of stuffing up once again in the UMAT...I mean, it's not like you're guaranteed the second time around. Taking a different course is the ideal option I think, which would really come down to things like Adv Sci, Med Sci or Physio. You'd be bored shitless if you spent the gap year without doing much, and your brain would become lazy if not frequently exercised.

    Awesome, thanks for the timers.

Re: delaying yourself for one year.. well, tbh you'd be doing that whichever alternative pathway you chose, even if you're transferring in from another degree. Also, if you just intend to complete the undergrad degree and go post grad there would be no need for retaking the umat anyway.
But of course, each to their own. Your 'ideal' might not be somebody else's. I know that there's heaps of stuff I'd love to do, and a gap year would give me the opportunity to do this.

I think that, in retrospect, you'll find that taking off an extra year to do things you really enjoy, have new experiences, etc isn't really a big deal. Sure, a year seems big now.. Besides, you'll rarely get another opportunity in life to just do whatever you want (well, almost)

I think you misunderstood me though, which is probably my fault. Taking a gap year and having plenty of stuff to keep you occupied whilst maintaining a fresh mind for the 2nd shot at UMAT is a great opportunity. However, taking a gap year simply to study for UMAT and maintain your 'High-School Graduate' position is not so great, due to aforementioned reasons.

Frankly, if I could get a gap year, I would travel to as many places as I can.
