perhaps develop your own techniques, or hire a tutor to spend an hr going through S3 techniques, or whatever you need help with really (although i'm not too sure if you need to purchase a package before being given a tutor..) just look around. I'm not really familiar with how the whole umat prep tutoring thing works, and no one here is allowed to give you any names anyway, so if you really think you need one, i'd say to call up some umat companies and ask.
I love mana. And I am perfect.

Ah well, ive already got a company and although I wouldn't need to buy a package, I would be required to upgrade to a package that includes interview training.

I didn't have a tutor for the UMAT... I just did like 10 practice papers
I think they were the most useful part
I remember for S1 mostly the most important thing I had to remember was
if they say its true its true even if i know its not
    if that makes any sense

    UMAT Tutors

Is it worth getting tutors or just getting preparation material?

Make sure you don't talk about UMAT prep courses :P Not allowed.

As for the tutor it may help and it may not.. Depends on each individual.

Please read the rules, here, before proceeding as you would have otherwise found that such discussions, including preparation material, are prohibited from the forum.

You may, however, through the stickies on here and the UMAT articles on the front page be able to find useful information on how to approach preparation. Good luck!

(ha, mods can reply to closed threads.)

We can't discuss particular prep courses here or anything, but different people will have different needs and some can prepare for it without any material except the ACER booklets.

You might want to check out the UMAT practice questions on our site, written by our very own members, with explanations and suggested approaches.

Should I have a UMAT tutor? This is very general question. For example think of your HSC. Some students benefit greatly from having a tutor and some follow their own study techniques. But one thing to remember that UMAT is extremely competitive and also it is once a year, so usually the students that hire tutors are those that want to ensure they tried their best and tried everything available to ensure they do secure a spot in the university for next year. Think of the situation, once you get your score and you realise that you missed out by one mark, you end up wondering, did I do everything I could to ensure a maximum mark. So the common case is that you realise how little few hundred dollars to spend for tutoring really is, comparing to the fact that now you have to study for UMAT again and wait another whole year, while all you needed is just to score one more mark that most likely through tutring would have achieved that for you. Does anyone disagree? 'UMATAustralia' provides tutors who sit UMAT every year and their tutors are actual accredited teachers. They know what to teach you and how to teach you. Best of luck with all your UMAT preparation.
