You can say that about any test with a multi choice component. Most people have been doing the box shady thing since grade 2 or 3, if you haven't mastered the not skipping box thing yet you need some practice. My assessments in med school are solely multi choice (well the written exams anyway), it's just something you need to learn to do. Bad luck if you did miss a box though

No, it is a manual remark. This doesn't mean the mark will change though.

Posted 20-10-08 01:11 AM I did the whole miss a box thing in section 1 for 7 questions until I realised it and went back to correct it. Cost me a good couple of minutes

Hey, I was wondering if anyone had an answer to this question?

Has anyone had their UMAT remarked and been successful or know someone who has?
Thanks

Posted 25-09-09 06:28 PM I am on 49 for section 2 and im also considering it but im not sure if it's worth it.
What exactly does the remarking involve? I had to rub some answers and change them last minute so the smudges may have caused the computers to think I marked two answers.

Re-marking just involves them manually marking the questions and scoring the test, then checking against the computer to see if there are any differences. If they find a mistake they issue new results and refund the re-mark fee.
your umat score is great - why would you want it to be remarked?

Posted 25-09-09 07:28 PM Im going to try for a remark. After the test I discussed my answers with my mates, we pretty much all agreed on the same ones. Only difference is 2 got 100th percentile and the other 2 98th percentile, while I got 36th. My highest was a raw score of 61 in section 1, which I had run out of time on, and I though it went ****. I felt section 2 and 3 went really well, but my raw scores in those were shocking.......I don't understand how. My 8 year old brother could have done better than me! I'm really hoping they have made mistakes in marking, but really would little things like having 2 answers to a question make much difference? I hope they've done something like used the answers to someone elses paper to mark mine, cos weren't each question booklet slightly different? Guess my only hope is for a remark
