Exactly, it's entirely possible that a score of the 100th percentile is still say, 60/100. We don't know how the tests are marked etc.

The best thing to do prior to the exam is to assume that you're never going to be 'entirely' ready for it and to keep practicing, keep learning. Then when you get to the exam know that you've done everything you could have and what happens, happens. Just get in there and do your best
Sometimes the questions are complicated and the answers are simple.

It seems silly the prac papers are easier thanm the actual exam. Gives false hope/ underprepares you.
Even so, Its not about the amount of questions you get right at this stage, its working up the speed and also accuracy of doing test papers. Even if you are dissapointed with these marks, there is still a good 7 months to the exam. keep practicing!

Is there like a chart where I can compare raw marks to scaled marks?
There is no such chart, but let me tell you - your marks are pretty good. Those are impressive scores.

In the real UMAT, 33/44 would be 95 percentile or above
31/36 would also be in the 90s,
28/30 is without a doubt 100 percentile for section 3 - it is very strong.

I understand that however this practice paper you did maybe slightly easier than the real UMAT. nevertheless, i still think you are looking at above 90 percentile for each section in the real UMAT. Hence, that would be a 100 percentile in the real UMAT without too much doubt.

The only problem here is that practice papers may be a bit easier, and that your marks will fluctuate - Hence your score in the real UMAT can be very different. I can let you know however, that if you get these same scores in teh real UMAT - youre on track for a 100%ile.

Personally i do not think that the practice papers are a lot easier than the real UMAT - my real UMAT went better than the practice papers. I got lower in my practice papers than you did - and i ended up with 98%ile.

I suppose it depends on what practice papers you are doing. ACER practice papers, for me, weren't really that easy. But everyone else seems to find them significantly easier than the real thing. so i would go by the majority's advice on this - but just beware that you dont necessary need to ace your practice tests to do well in the UMAT.

that being said - i have to finish by adding, that i agree with - dr worm, 21callum, kiwipride, sainteced and ben0009, i too found the acer practice papers quite difficult.

    good luck

I personally found that the ACER practice paper 1 was quite simple. I got about 4 wrong in section 3, and one in each of section 1 and 2. I thought that it was much easier than the real exam though. Section 3 in the real exam I guessed many answers, and I wasn't at all confident with my answers in section 2. I found section 1 to be fine, however.

I ended up completing the UMAT last year with a very high score in section 1, which dragged my raw score up to 64, which got me 97th percentile. Don't pay to much attention to the practice paper and how you go. I didn't do any other study, but I found that the practice paper was very important for getting you into the correct fram of mind for doing the UMAT.

Just try your best to relax, and think logically for every answer.

Does that mean doing well in the practice doesn't mean you would do well in the actual as well?

    nope.
the reason that practice papers are available is purely to give the students the 'feel' for what umat is like.
its gonna be much more stressful, the real one and much harder but htat doesnt matter. what matters is who can do BETTER than the rest.
    its all relative.

If those were your scores on an ACTUAL umat exam, I agree... awesome scores. What you have to remember is that the prac books provided by ACER are MUCH easier than the real thing... use those books as a guide to the question types you will get... not to study for the exam.

Looking around this site you will see there are plenty of threads on ways to prepare yourself... I would advise taking what people say in those threads into consideration.

    Good luck!!

Those score are likely to say little about your actual marks. Some ppl did crap in their practice and did well in the UMAT, and the other extreme happened to some ppl as well. Once you get near perfect marks, try to complete the practice tests in say, 40 minutes instead of 45. It's the speed that matters as well and a fair proportion of students don't finish the last questions which tend to have a pattern of some sort. If you feel you're performance is less than optimal, then try and 'analyse' your thought process- quick and efficient thinkers are made for the UMAT
