Established by on December 10, 1909, the University of Queensland (UQ) is the oldest university in Queensland and one of Australia's premier and most prestigious learning and research institutions. As a founding member of the national Group of Eight universities, UQ is a research-strong "sandstone" university committed to ensuring that Australia has higher education institutions which are genuinely world class.
