Apropos reqs. for American medical school, some are so "exclusive" (perhaps to ensure that one doesn't "study and scram" but actually contributes to American society) that they don't accept people unless they've studied for at least a year in the U.S. or are from Canada (and studying in Canada for a year doesn't cut it).

Thanks for verifying that superficial details are evidently worth mentioning (and perhaps aren't so superficial), too, for whatever it's worth.
Please stop you're hurting my brain =/

Before reviving the thread, I assume you read it in context. As such, in response to the OP, who said:

I live in canada and i heard its almost near to impossible to get into med school here unless u have excellent gpa and loads of volunteer work. So for all those who got into med school, is it really very hard to get in?
It's entirely appropriate to point out that entry requirements of North American and Canadian schools, as alluded to by the OP, is quite different to that of Australian schools.

Carry on.

Yup! The thread was read in context, but no doubt replies were tangential.
