Vaccinations are a good way to meet your cohort, one of my best friends now was standing next to me on that first day. Admittedly he also went to my highschool, but we didn't know each other.

Medcamp, 26-28 Feb. I shall be seeing you young guns there.

I am not sure 100%, but I think the theme is "Welcome to the Jungle".

I'll be part of the class of 2015 tooo . I'm from perth and deferred for a year to try out dentistry at UWA to figure out which career choice appealed to me more!! I'm going to be staying at the village in townhouse 35 i think O.o?

For textbooks:

the only ones i bought last year was "Anatomy and physiology: the unity of form and function" by K. Saladin which was immensely helpful for first year human biology courses (it was called found. of animal and human biology and normal systems for us im not sure what its called at UA) Retail ~$100

The other one was ... i THINK the name of the book was "An atlas of human anatomy" (i dont have the book on me right now ) by Dr. Frank Netter and seriously....ITS SUCH AN AWESOME BOOK. It's an anatomy atlas but all images are hand drawn in amazing detail and accuracy. Its the perfect companion for when you're preparing for or reviewing cadaver labs. It wasn't on the UWA booklist and so was also not available in our libraries so that prompted me to buy it. Again i'm not sure if UA is the same. Retails for $160 ($144 with a nifty 10% student discount available at many medical book stores)

Saladin is probably about equivalent to Tortora, actually, so if you have that, no need for Tortora

YES!!!! You jsut saved me ~$100 or so!!! tytytyty. And how do i get involved in medcamp? i googled Adelaide med camp and all i got was the 2009 circus themed one! Are there sign-ups?

Also is there a fetal pig dissection component in the UA med course? (something to look forward to every Monday morning at 8am for all the 2010 UWA first year med/dent/pods ...Not really... It's pretty horrible.)
