In another nutshell, could you say that general physicians can do everything that GPs can do and more...?

are general physicians GPs, except awesomer...?

I'm guessin the answer to that is no.

I'm in the psych wards at the moment, and I'm really enjoying the work and difference you can make. I met "jesus" the other day, he forgot to take his meds I also get the feeling I'm one of the few medical students that enjoys psych.

However, I definitely would like to try out paeds- adolescents not so much the littlies, emergency, GP, oncology, nephrology, immunology... and for some reason gastro (I loved UC and crohns).

No, GPs practice primary care. General physicians are physicians like a cardiologist or an immunologist is a physician and their work is similarly specialised.

The Jesus delusion and many other relgious delusions are very common is psych. You'll also see plenty of intelligent machine and FBI/federal police type delusions.

Also adolescents don't get sick so much, most of paediatrics is looking after people under the age of 10.
