Default Forum Partner - Medical careers website for Aus medical students and junior doctors - 23-03-08, 10:01 PM

Hi all,

My name is Jonathan and I am a medical graduate from Melb Uni (2004). I am now a radiation oncology registrar at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne. I have been involved (with other RMOs, senior doctors etc) in building a career planning and specialty choice website for medical students and junior doctors @ mymedicalcareer.com.au. You will likely hear about this through more official routes in the near future, however in the meantime, we would love your feedback.

It will always be a free resource, and you are welcome to join the community to ask questions or discuss any careers related issues.

Don't hesitate to contact me with any feedback or questions about the My Medical Career website,

Jonathan.

Very nice indeed, especially the profiles. Very well done.

I don't usually like self-promotion on this site but your website is so amazing, good work! What's your revenue model?

Thanks for being lenient with the self-promotion issue

We are currently seeking funding from government and medical industry groups (medical associations etc) to help maintain and develop the site. As you would have noticed there is also some banner advertising (which we intend to keep non-intrusive).

We are glad you like the site!

Unlike some sites such as the RACP and RACS sites, I found this site to be very "medical student-friendly"!

Love the profiles section!

ohhh i was given a pamphlet on this at school! it was SO helpful! it was honestly the only useful piece of information regarding medicine that was given to me. It is such a fantastic resource, thanks so much to you for creating it!
